Bottle top waxing machine in semi-automatic spirits bottling line for Chuckanut Bay, USA
IC Filling Systems is supplying Chuckanut Bay Distillery in Washington State, USA with a complete semi-automatic spirits bottling line, including a bottle top waxing and embossing machine.
The semi-automatic spirits line consists of a ten pocket bottle rinser, six valve filler, self-adhesive labelling machine, inkjet coder, and automatic wax capsuling machine with brass embossing stamps, all connected via conveyors to include an infeed and bottle accumulation table, allowing for single person operation of the entire line.
Chuckanut Bay Distillery began in 2011, the brainchild of Matt Howell and Kelly Andrews, longtime friends who share a passion for premium distilled spirits and challenging projects.
Their first spirit was a potato vodka made from Skagit Valley grown Yukon Gold potatoes. They didn’t have an electric grinder at that time, nor could they afford one. So Matt connected a bicycle frame to Kelly’s old apple grinder and proceeded to grind down over 13,000 pounds of potatoes. They’ve since retired the bicycle grinder, but you can still see it if you take the distillery tour.
Since then, Chuckanut have broadened their spirit selection to include eight additional products, won national and international awards, and enjoyed themselves immensely throughout the process. In 2017, they bought an historic 18,000 square foot building in downtown Bellingham on Cornwall Avenue.
Chuckanut are proud to count themselves among the growing number of pioneering Washington craft distilleries, remaining singularly focused on producing the highest quality, slow-crafted spirits available anywhere in the world.
